Please join us in praying for Langham around the world.
Preaching
Please pray for the pastors and church leaders who attended training in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea during the first week of May. Pray they will put into practice what they have learned!
Similarly, pray for the small group of Australian Aboriginal pastors who have now done the three levels of Preaching training, that they will put into practice what they have learned and support each other in their preaching. The Preaching Global Facilitators Forum takes place this month. 30 participants with representatives from all of the continents will be present. It will be a time of learning but also of thinking through strategies for the future and how to increase our training of facilitators across the movements around the world.
Pray for Preaching events happening in these nations:
- 11-17 June South Asia, Eurasia, Colombia
- 18-24 June Zambia, Togo, Solomon Islands
- 25 Jun-1 July Australia (rural lay preachers), Paraguay
- 2-8 July South Sudan
- 9-15 July Liberia, Trinidad & Tobago
Where countries are considered sensitive, the region is given.
Pray for the Preaching leadership, especially Paul Windsor, Ruth Slater, Dwi Handayani and Stephen Williams (Regional Coordinator for the South Pacific, based in Australia).
Scholars
Please continue to pray for Scholars being supported through Langham Australia. Pray for George Bishai in Egypt as he revises his thesis, for Joseph Byamukama as he studies in Uganda and for Crystal from East Asia, who continues her studies through Sydney University.
Give thanks for the Langham Scholar Care Coordinators, spread around the world, who regularly connect with Scholars working on their PhD. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they guide Scholars through their study programme from a pastoral perspective.
Literature
The 2022 / 2023 Library Grant season concludes this month. Give thanks for the many books and resources that have been sent to colleges in the Majority World. Pray for safe delivery of all the items and that they will be a source of inspiration and knowledge for all who use them.
