A note from Gillean

Some years ago I had the pleasure of meeting with an elderly lady who had always dreamed of medical missionary service in Africa, but for whom life circumstances had intervened.

She felt a little disappointed that she had not been of more use in God’s Kingdom, but prayed faithfully for a number of ministries for many years.  I am quite sure that God used this lady in many ways during her life, touching those she came into contact with, in the same way that she was an encouragement and inspiration to me. However it has been in her passing on and leaving a bequest to Langham Partnership that she has made a major impact on the global work, with her gift coming at just the right time to meet some urgent needs internationally. 

In this life, she never knew what a difference she made, but God was able to use her faithfulness and generosity beyond her imagination. From a small corner in a far flung land, God has blessed this ministry through a lady who felt that “all she was able to offer was prayer”. 

We thank God for our faithful pray-ers and for those able to give as their means allow, as we see Him use those prayers and gifts to His glory.
