preaching in Mongolia, France, Nigeria, Peru and DR Congo… 7 Apr 2014

Thank you for your prayers for the work of Preaching around the world. Here are the items for praise and prayer this week.
Mongolia: Sadly Paul Windsor was unable to attend the Line Up meeting last Monday due to a series of flight delays. However, Purevdorj Jamasran and Bayar Garam have written to tell us that the meeting had gone very well. The pastors in attendance were very enthusiastic about developing a Preaching ministry. A committee of 7 people has been formed who will plan towards a Level 1 event taking place this time next year. Please pray for this new committee and that the enthusiasm of the pastors will continue as they develop this work together.
France: Mike McGowan (Regional Coordinator) has just completed facilitating 4 Saturday Level 1 sessions in Brittany with 7 local participants. The sessions were very encouraging and in a country where thematic preaching is the norm those attending say they are now committed to textual preaching. Between 15 and 20 leaders have now been trained and plan to meet together in July for a Level 2 event. Mike asks us to pray for the preachers clubs and a new local facilitator, Nicolas Engel, who will be teaching a further 4 Saturday Level 1 sessions with a group of 4 preachers.
Nigeria: This week a Level 1 and 2 will be held in Zaria. Emmanuel Oladipo, Praises Omole, Ishaya Baba and Akin Afuwape will facilitate the event for 120 participants. Emeka Egbo (Country Coordinator) asks us to pray ‘that the Lord will give peace within the region and for a great time of learning in God’s presence’.
Peru: A Level 2 event will be held in Huancayo where 85 participants will look at preaching from the New Testament Epistles. Daniel Salinas, Jaime Mendoza and Igor Amestegui (Regional Coordinator) will facilitate the event. Igor asks us to pray for ‘clarity and depth in the teaching of the facilitators and that the participants will continue to work in small groups to consolidate what they have learnt’.
DR Congo: This week a Level 1 event will take place in Likasi. Please pray for Stephane Makata (Facilitator) who will be leading this event and for the safety of the participants who often travel many miles to attend.
