Prayer in Pakistan, Cambodia, Indonesia…Monday 7th July 2014
Dear Friends
Thank you for your prayerful support for the work of Langham Preaching. Here are the items for the week ahead:
Pakistan: As in previous years, the team based in Karachi places its training programme during the month of Ramadan when people have more time. A Level 1 takes place this week, with Asif John leading the team of trainers. Paul Barker (regional coordinator) asks us to pray for safety and fruitfulness in the training.
Cambodia: From Monday to Wednesday a ‘training of trainers’ is to be held in Phnom Penh. Please pray for Neil Watkinson as he facilitates the training, while Somnang Sin (country coordinator) asks us to pray that ‘participants be willing to learn and be determined to submit to God’s Word’. There is some uncertainty about the direction which this movement will take in the future. Please pray for wisdom for those who make these decisions.
Indonesia: A Level 1 commences on Sunday in Polewali (West Sulawesi), a predominantly Muslim area. 12 congregations are sending their pastors and elders, with 75 people expected to participate. The trainers are Okta Rumpak, Dewi Nikijuluw and Judith Folabessy. Victor Nikijuluw (country coordinator) asks us to pray for those facilitators and participants travelling long distances from rural areas and also for the plan to establish preachers clubs that can meet regularly after the seminar.
Skelton (Cumbria, UK): Please pray for the gathering of the global team this week for key discussions regarding the work of Langham Preaching. Those participating will be Jorge Atiencia (Latin America), Emmanuel Oladipo (Anglophone Africa), Mike McGowan (Francophone Africa), Mark Meynell (Europe) – together with Jennifer Cuthbertson, Ruth Slater and Paul Windsor. Pray that God’s hand will be upon them as they build the team and plan the future together.
Thanks for your prayers!
